Everyone knows I love sunlight, sun-flare and well just about anything involving the sun. Today however I shoot a adorable session in Tucson AZ that was actually like being ON the sun. With a 4:40 am sunrise and 90 degrees by our 7 am session I was very glad that I had the foresight to make this session early before these adorable kids melted. Or in the case of extreme heat , had a meltdown.
Luckily for me they are used to living in the heat and loved to explore the location I choose for our session so not only did we avoid a meltdown but we actually had a great time Maddie is what I like to call a free spirit. Adventures and happy, and at ease and always looks as if she is pondering some of life’s biggest questions …her personality was present in every one of her pictures. And so was her adorable lips … which let’s be honest , those of us over 30 pay for lips like that.
Drew is at that age where he just realized his legs move and propel him forward ( as in … just learned how to walk) and I call this the “head down” phase, because when you go from never using your legs to suddenly they are your main means of transportation you want to look where your stepping. He also wasnt really feeling the kisses from Maddie this morning, I am sure that will change when he turns 12 …
Michele (supper mom of these beautiful duo) Maddie & Drew … thanks for letting me play this morning!
That pretty belly you see below … it is cooking a girl, and based on how gorgeous her parents are she is going to be stunning!
Brianne & Marc have been married 2 years, and they are expecting there first (human) baby very shortly! I say human because, Chance – there furbaby – is a very important part of the family and he loved posing with the belly during our session. I love animal people, and especially those that consider them a part of the family so having chance be in the pictures was completely logical to me!
How did I know I was going to instantly want to be friends with Brianne? She busted out one of my favorite pairs of shoes for her session ( and even wears the same size as me , in case I ever need to borrow a replacement pair She also is ridiculously down to earth, and even walked across a field in heels, got wet in a pool and climbed into plants during her session! She should be the poster child for how pretty pregnancy can be, she looks absolutely radiant!
Ending her session is the water was a completely logical choice since dad Marc is a surfer and he wants his little girl to hit the beach with him as soon as she is old enough! Based on how active she was in the belly during the water part of our shoot, I would say Marc is going to get his wish!
Brianne & Marc, thank you so much for your session and for letting me document this amazing time for you both! I cant wait to meet her!!!!
I love photographing engagement sessions. Really really really love it. Here’s why … the couple is EXCITED for the upcoming wedding day, always in love and it gives them permission for total PDA … and my camera loves capturing love!
Speaking of love …..Chelsea and Lyle are quite clearly feeling it! In case there is any question at all if these two have fun together I think the photo’s below clearly prove it When I asked these two what location was most like there personality to have there engagement session done, they automatically said ” The beach”! And so I headed up to beautiful Laguna beach … and wow was it just amazing! The other reason I love photographing engagement sessions … I get to really hang out and get to know a couple better and I discover all sorts of awesome facts about them. Like these two are going to be world travelers. The sense of adventure they have and the places they plan to see , they are going to have a life of new experiences and they get to do it with there best friend by there side!
Chelsea & Lyle … you two are awesome, and I cant wait for your wedding day!
P.S Chelsea actually caught the bouquet at a wedding I photographed last October … how is that for awesome!
