I grew up in a small town, the kind of place where you could go into your backyard and actually pick something to add to your dinner menu. mmmm…. avocado’s! So when Nicolina contacted me for her maternity session I soon discovered that not only did she share the same foodie mentality as me – she was actually from the same small town I grew up in as well. As my mom always says “the world is a smaller place than you realize”.  She and her hubby Jeff have stuck to her roots and are very involved in the local farming community and support our local farmer’s markets by starting Terra Bella Ranch, which provides FRESH picked and FRESHLY harvested organic and sustainable produce grown in California.

So back to that baby bump .. Since we wanted to capture this little ones first portrait session in a place that fit these two first time parent’s passion for food – we headed out to a local orchard – because it seems fitting that grape vines, nut orchards and fruit tree’s would be the backdrop for this babies first official pictures I soon discovered in just a short time that this couple is not just in love, but also best friends. I have no doubt that they are going to be incredible parent’s. They are also probably going to have pretty rad dinner parties and BBQ’s … *finger’s crossed* I want a invite!

Nicolina & Jeff – Thank you for letting me capture this very special time for you both. I am so excited to hear what you are having, but I know that regardless if it is a boy or girl, that kid is going to love fresh food!
