Excuse me while I take a moment to reminisce. Alex is my nephew. When my husband and I got married he was a quirky 13 year old boy who would love to come hang out with us for the weekend. I think in those days we were “cool” .. because hanging out with your aunt and uncle who are in their 20’s when you are still in junior high MUST feel kinda awesome. (That’s my story and I am sticking to it! More seriously though – from the moment I met Alex he stole my heart a little bit. He is SO much like my husband. He has this amazing laugh, and a kind heart, and he is just one of the most down to earth people you could ever meet. I have always known that one day he would make some women a really amazing husband. Luckily for our family, he found someone to be an amazing wife. Meet Jocelyn…
Just like from the moment I met Alex and loved him instantly – I felt the EXACT same way about meeting his fiance Jocelyn. It took my breath away how she was the most perfect compliment to him in every single way. She even convinced him to eat eggplant while out to dinner with us .. trust me when I say that is huge. I am not quite sure how to put into words how much I love this girl, other than to just say it feels like she FITS perfectly in our family.
Alex & Jocelyn … we are OVERJOYED for you both. No two people could ever be more perfect. I can not wait to see all the amazing adventures life brings your way … we love you!

Karli + Carl are getting married. I know for a fact that they will be one of those couples that in 10, 20 and even 50 year’s will be just as madly in love as they are at this very moment.
How do I know this? I have super duper skills at detecting true love. It usually involves the fact that a couple can LAUGH together, be naturally CONNECTED together, and that they view life as a journey they plan to always take TOGETHER. Sometimes that journey involves bringing along your dog. Like during this incredibly awesome engagement session where the lighting literally glowed. I hate to use the word Ethereal .. because it sounds a tad cheesy, but hey I like cheese so there it is. Ethereal.
And since you all know how much I love LOVE, puppies and light I am pretty sure you understand when I say this engagement session was AWESOMESAUCE!
Karli & Carl ..thank you for following me on our crazy hike through the mountains and the beach!
Courtney and Phil … where oh where do I begin. When I first met them I asked what things they love to do together, and in less than 2.5 seconds they started to tell me how much they loved being outdoor’s, riding bikes, going on picnic’s and how much they loved spending time with family. So when it came time to plan the engagement session I asked what locations were special to them – and Courtney immediately told me how much she loved Julian. Orchards, and lakes, and beautiful mouantins .. a location could not have been more ideal or perfect for them.
The day of the engagement shoot I drove through crazy flash floods, thunder storms and wind on the way to the Julian. I was starting to think that my umbrella and rain gear were going to come in real handy for this shoot. Then I arrived – and as if God decided to give them a extra special gift in the form of a gorgeous cloud filled sky – I literally took in how MAJESTIC and BREATHTAKING this special spot we choose was.
One of the FAVORITE momen’s about shooting an engagement session is getting to witness for the first time how truly connected, in love and excited a couple is to be getting married. And Courtney and Phil did not disappointing. A picture is worth a thousand words .. so without further ado .. check out how much in love these two are.
Courtney & Phil – thanks for rocking my photographer socks off. Seriously.
