Rachel and Jimmy are some of my favorite clients ever. Every single milestone I have captured for them has been beyond rad – the vintage record theme engagement session, the INCREDIBLE mid century estate wedding at the Fredrick Lowe Estate, and now their gorgeous modern maternity session. They have such style, so true to who they are, that it is always amazing for me as an artist to capture it.
I have always felt that Rachel and Jimmy are proof that soul mates exist. They are truly perfect for each, the balance of personalities so perfect blended that they should be a Bob Dylan song. That is how I know they are going to be incredible parents, because while they might not realize it yet as a parent myself I think the best combination of parenting style is when two people support each other while being open to the fact that sometimes you have to just invite that tiny human in your life and welcome them into the world you created for them – and go with the flow. They have that down already.
Bug ( THE BIG SISTER PUPPY ) has been their practice baby for many years now, and she is quite the happy pup – so other than conquering the sleepless nights they already have got this in the bag. Henry is going to be the luckliest little boy with these two parents, he is also going to have killer taste in music.
Rachel & Jimmy – can’t wait to see our boys grow up with the shared love for music!
This family is really really really special to me. It all started when Colleen was a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot many years ago. I loved her adorable smile the moment I met her. Then she was engaged – and she asked me to photograph her wedding. And that is how a really amazing friendship began. Since then I documented every milestone in this couples life, and in some ways being a part of each chapter in their story has become a personal storytelling project for me. They are in many ways my muses.
Colleen and Kris are what I like to call a “power” couple. They work hard, they love fiercely, they are kind and charming and friendly to everyone they meet. Style and grace come naturally to them, and they are never ever pretentious – always welcoming to friends and strangers alike. If I could wish anything for them at this stage in their life it would be to understand how much love grows when you become a parent. It literally makes your life explode in ways you never knew your heart could experience. I am also secretly thrilled that we will have children so close in age to grow up and be friends.
Colleen & Kris, so much love to you my friends – welcome to the parent club.
